What inspired you to start teaching yoga?
When I moved to Boston for graduate school, I was very homesick. Practicing yoga and being part of the yoga community helped me find a sense of home. I fell in love with yoga and movement. I loved how it made me feel. I originally took yoga teacher training to deepen my personal practice. However, during the final teaching exam, each of us had to lead the cohort through a class. During savasana, I noticed how calm and peaceful everyone looked. At that moment, I decided I wanted to share this practice with others and help them experience how yoga and movement can be a space to unwind and work through whatever they may be facing.
What can people expect when they take your class?
I hope people feel welcomed and safe in my class. They can expect to feel relaxed, grounded, and calm. They can learn to listen to the subtle cues of their body and heighten their awareness. With that awareness, they can move in a way that feels right for them.
What certifications or specialities do you have?
500 HR YTT, 60 HR Restorative and Yin Yoga, Yoga Tune-Up certification, Pilates Certification (Mat, Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda Chair), Barre Certification, PCES (Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist).
What brings you joy?
Many things bring me joy. Lately, being able to take naps has been something that truly makes me happy.
