What inspired you to start teaching yoga?
My journey in the fitness and wellness industry started back in 2009. I started as a personal trainer and fell in love with helping people achieve their health and wellness goals. This led me to continue my education further and in 2011 I completed my Masters Degree in Exercise Science Rehabilitation.

I had started going to yoga classes for active recovery from the gym as I was working to get my “pre-pregnancy” body back. But at some point, the focus shifted from yoga being supplemental to my strength training to strength training being supplemental to my yoga practice. Then one day at the end of a yoga class, while lying in Savasana, I had the thought that I could become a yoga teacher! In a few short months I found a Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) course that I felt aligned with. Along the way, I also became interested in mobility training, and started to incorporate it into both the gym and yoga space. It didn't take long for me to experience increases in strength and flexibility on the mat as well as under the weight rack. So in early 2024, I became a certified mobility specialist and now I weave those techniques into my yoga sequences.

What can people expect when they take your class?
My approach to both yoga and mobility is to focus on joint alignment, muscle engagement and the quality of movement instead of simply going through the motions. My students can expect detailed explanations to help you deepen your mind - body connection.

What brings me the most joy?
One of the things that brings me the most joy is watching my students realize that they are, in fact, capable of doing hard and amazing things.
